Blown, Cut, and Polished Glass
Blown using the traditional Venetian glassblowing technique of caneworking, a netlike pattern of grey glass threads is suspended in a heavy layer of crystal, giving the piece its unique optical qualities. The outer surface is a thin layer of etched, dark gray glass.
After cooling, the top of the piece is sliced open and polished in a fashion similar to cutting a rock geode, revealing the pattern inside.
